A visit to Tara is not complete without a stroll to the llama fields. There you will find approximately 20 llamas grazing on 10 fenced acres. If you have the good fortune to be visiting in the spring or fall you may even encounter a newborn "cria". Several animals have brought home show ribbons, including ALSA champion halter and get-of-sire "One Standing Ovation". If you are visiting to learn more about these beautiful creatures, you can get a free introductory class in llama care. If the weather is right, the trails are groomed and the innkeepers are available, you may also have the opportunity to go on a hike through the woods with a llama! Llamas, wool, handspun yarn, and hand-made llama wool items are also available for sale.
